Frequently asked questions
1Do you need experience to race the karts?
No racing experience is required. Each driver will be briefed on track safety, track rules, flags and sign meanings and kart operation.
2I am under 16 and want to race?
No Problem! As long as you are at least 1.50m tall and 13 years of age or older, you can race the karts. If you are unsure of your racing ability, you can come in and take a race evaluation. One of our experts can evaluate your racing abilities. When you pass the race evaluation, you can race!
3What is a Race Evaluation?
A race evaluation allows our track marshals to explain the rules of the track, provide a safety briefing and make sure that you can follow the basic rules and keep up with the time requirements.
4Why do I have to sign a waiver?
This is mandated and part of our rules to keep you safe and protect us. Every Racer must sign a waiver, no exceptions.
5I have some children less than 1.50cm. What can they do?
General entertainment offered by Gateway for younger children.
6Can I bring my own helmet?
Yes, you can. Your helmet must be DOT certified or greater and have a full face cover and have a visor or goggles, not all our helmets have visors.
7How fast do your karts go?
Our go-karts are governed to allow for all users to have fun & enjoyable experience. The go-karts are powered by 270cc engines.
8What type of training do customers go through?
Each racer will go through a short mandatory safety briefing on the karts and track rules. The briefing will give the meaning of each safety sign and also how to operate the kart. Briefing is compulsory for your safety and the safety of others.
9Do I need to make a reservation?
For groups of eight or more, it is highly recommended that you book a group event Without a reservation for a large group, you will “Arrive and Drive,” you will be scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. For a large group it is recommended that the track is booked for a minimum of 1 hour.
10Do you have all equipment I will need to kart?
Yes, we provide everything you will need to race. We recommend you bring a pair of closed-toed shoes & a hair band for long hair.
11What should I wear?
Appropriate footwear must be worn. No high heels, flip flops or open toe shoes. No bare feet. No loose articles or items of clothing. All scarfs and/or long necklaces must be removed. Long hair must be tied up and tucked in. Appropriate clothing must be worn. Ladies, dresses are skirts are probably not a good idea.
